- Windows. Accent your window fashions by painting holiday decorations on your windows. Purchase holiday themed sponge shapes at a craft store, and paint stars, snowflakes, snowmen, trees, and more onto your windows. Add a teaspoon of liquid dish soap to acrylic craft paint to make clean-up easy when the season ends.
- Artwork. Use your framed artwork as built-in holiday decorations. Either drape them with ribbon, or go all out and wrap them in stylish, high quality wrapping paper that matches your theme. You don’t have to do this with every piece of art, but select them carefully and in a pattern. For example, do all pieces that can be seen from your front window, or focus just on the dining room, entryway, or the room with your tree.
- Mantle. Using fishing line, tack up large Christmas ornaments or sparkly snowflakes at varying lengths above your mantle. This will draw attention to your mantel decorations and create a more festive atmosphere.
- Outside baskets. Get those hanging pots out of storage and dress them up for Christmas! Place decorative evergreen in their base, then get oversized ornaments to fill them up. To go all out, decorate wire hanging baskets with spray paint and glitter. Hang your decorated baskets along with lights on your porch, a shepherd’s rod, or from trees.
