Keeping Pets and Children Safe
October is National Window Covering Safety Month, and in honor of that, we’re reminding people about the dangers dangling window cords can pose to small children and pets. Eliminate the Danger
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, corded window coverings are one of the top five hidden hazards in children’s homes. If cords are reachable by and accessible to infants and toddlers, they can pose strangulation dangers, which can result in brain damage or death. Dealing With Older Treatments
Now might not be the best time for you to purchase all new treatments, but you can still make sure your older models are safe for children and pets. If your current treatments have dangling cords, simply shorten them or tuck them up and out of reach. Be sure to keep cribs and beds away from corded treatments (on the other side of the room if possible). This kit can help you make your cords as safe as possible for everyone in your home.
