Garnet is Red Hot
A deep red, garnet is a beautiful accent color for any room, including for a single wall of wallpaper. With rich tones and bold saturation, garnet goes well with black, gold, taupe, and sometimes even white when done right. Using modest amounts of garnet change the feel of any room. It’s perfect for throw pillows, window toppers, and unique décor accessories. Accents of garnet can draw the eye to other items in your room.
Bring Deep Green Back to Your Home Design
This year’s green is a deep green. It’s not quite forest green because it has a little bit of yellow in it, but more like a Christmas green that works all year long. When using deep green in interior design, offset it with a creamy white or beige. In a bedroom, deep green would work well with custom bedding and drapery, or as the primary color on the walls.
Go with a Mulberry for Your Purple
Mulberry is a red-purple, bold and full of life. For purple-lovers, this color is softer than a bright purple, and more sophisticated than lavender. Mulberry is nicely paired with the yellow-greens, golds and even gray. Best used as an accent color, mulberry is beautiful on drapery, upholstery, small window coverings, or on an accent wall.
Pantone Color of the Year: Emerald
Each year, color-giant Pantone selects a “color of the year.” This year, that color is “emerald,” a greenish blue that is described as richer than turquoise and deeper than aqua. As a very versatile color, emerald works in any room, either as a principal color or as an accent. Imagine emerald for drapery and fabric accents in any room in your home!
