Color of the Year
Each year, the Pantone Color Institute (well regarded as the utmost authority in all things color) selects a Color of the Year to set the tone for the months to come. And although some years’ colors are more popular than others, they always trend in multiple arenas (some even very unexpected ones). Mocha Mousse: 2025’s Color
This color is made for “earthy refinement,” with tones that “extend a sense of indulgence throughout the day.” Its shading is reminiscent of both chocolate and coffee, and it is a “warming brown hue imbued with richness.” Mocha Mousse presents a versatile foundation that is easily complemented. Excellent matches include floral colors like violet, rose tan, and willow green, as well as earthy tones like cream, tan, and amber. Leatrice Eastman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, notes that the color “extends our perceptions of the browns from being humble and grounded to embrace aspirational and luxe.”
Watch for the Color
Because Pantone selects a color that reflects trends across numerous industries—including fashion, beauty, technology, design, and home décor—you’ll be seeing Mocha Mousse all around in the very near future.
