The Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act of 2015, which gave federal tax credits on select energy-efficient products, have been reinstated for 2016. And certain Hunter Douglas are eligible. What Earning the Tax Credit Looks Like
As long as you make the qualifying purchase and have it installed before December 31, 2016, you’ll have the opportunity to earn the tax credit. Visit www.hunterdouglas.com/taxcredit to download the required forms and to find out about specific details and restrictions. If everything fits the bill, you’ll be eligible to earn 10% of the purchase price of the product only (excluding sales tax and measuring and installation charges), up to $500 (which is the maximum combined total amount that can be claimed for all purchases of qualifying energy-efficient products placed in service during this period). This is subject to reduction in the amount of Section 25C tax credits taken in prior years. The tax credit is subject to a lifetime limitation of $500. Be sure to contact your tax advisor regarding your individual tax situation and your ability to claim this tax credit.
